Title

Overview

Midnight Thoughts expands the sleep experience in Minecraft, transforming sleep from a passive skip mechanic into a meaningful gameplay system.

Core idea

Sleep is no longer just a way to skip the night — it becomes part of progression, storytelling, and competition.

Goal

The goal of the mod is to make sleep an active gameplay mechanic rather than a passive action.

Instead of simply skipping the night, sleep becomes:

  • a storytelling system through dreams and nightmares
  • a progression system with buffs and rewards
  • a social competition system between players

This encourages players to go to bed not just for survival, but for progress, interaction, and competition.

What the mod adds

Where to start

New to the mod?

Read comfort system first. Almost everything else — the buff level, whether you get nightmares, whether you can sleep at all — follows from it.

Server owners will want for servers and commands.

Modpack authors adding their own rules should look at KubeJS or the Java API.
